John Midwood, Author of Cape Fear Ghosts

My name is John Midwood.  Born in Wilmington, ghosts are second nature to me.  My book, Cape Fear Ghosts, available in paperback, or as a kindle e-book from Amazon.com.

If you would like to read a chapter from my book for free, email me at purrjohn@aol.com and I will send it to you as a pdf file.  Also, I would love to hear your ghost stories so don't be shy.

At present, I live in Mapleton, Queensland, on Australia's Sunshine Coast with my wife Jan.  Jan is a travel agent and runs her own business from home.

I am an avid historian and since I was a child I have been fascinated with Brunswick Town State Historic Site in Brunswick County North Carolina.  It was one of my experiences at this site that formed the basis for BRUNSWICK TOWN in my book.

Saint Phillips Church

It was within the walls of this church that 17 year old Justina Davis
married 73 year old Royal Governor Arthur Dobbs.

Another favourite haunt....pun intended...is Fort Fisher State Historic Site at Kure Beach, North Carolina.  Despite the passage of more than a century and a half, the dead appear to be trapped here, not so much repeating past events, but to this day interacting with anyone brave enough to invade what to them is their sacred domain.

Fort Fisher Gun Battery

This particular battery, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean has many dark secrets.
On more than one occasion Conferderate Sentries, long since dead, have made their
presence known to the general public, and even law enforcement officers.

These are just two of the tales that await you when you buy your copy of Cape Fear Ghosts, either in paperback or in Kindle format.  Like the ghosts that have haunted me, I will haunt this site so that we can interact and that I might take your hand and be your guide to "the other side".
